Dear Mama,       Because of love, I am here asking you a consideration not to abort me. I am not just a "blob of tissue" or  "uterine contents". I am a human undertaking  development inside you.         When you had sexual intercourse with Papa, within one or two days of the egg’s maturation, I am one of the up to 500 million sperm deposited by Papa’s ejaculation, which are travelling up the fallopian tube, may fertilize the egg. Although few of the sperm are able to make the long journey, some of the strongest swimmers succeed in meeting the egg. As the sperm reach the egg in the fallopian tube, they release enzymes that attack the outer jellylike protective coating of the egg, each trying to be the first to enter. As soon as one of the millions of sperm enters the egg’s coating, the egg immediately responds by both blocking out all other challengers and at the same time pulling in the single successful sperm - and that's ME, the lucky o...

Bronfenbrenner's Ecological Framework

Image
According to Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Systems Theory, children typically find themselves enmeshed in various ecosystems, from the most intimate home ecological system to the larger school system, and then to the most expansive system which includes society and culture. Each of these ecological systems inevitably interact with and influence each other in all aspects of the children’s lives. Bronfenbrenner’s ecological model organizes contexts of development into five levels of external influence. These levels are categorized from the most intimate level to the broadest. The Bronfenbrenner Ecological Model: Microsystem The Bronfenbrenner theory suggests that the microsystem is the smallest and most immediate environment in which children live. As such, the microsystem comprises the daily home, school or daycare, peer group and community environment of the children. Interactions within the microsystem typically involve personal relationships with family members, classmates, t...

Module 3 - Issues on Human Development

Jaime M. Cabatbat BSE - MATH 1 Module 3 - Issues on Human Development Reflect on your own personal development. Is what you become a product of heredity or environment, or a product of both ? How'd you say so? > I think what I am is a product of both heredity and environment. I was born and raised to a very poor family with little education. So if you trace my human development from early childhood to early adulthood , the intensity of  their influence for my development is so very big.

Module 2 - The Stages of Development and Developmental Task

Jaime M. Cabatbat BSE - MATH 1 Module 2 - The Stages of Development and Developmental Task 1. Reflect on your early childhood, middle, and late childhood days. Were you able to acquire the developmental tasks expected of these stages? What facilitated your acquisitions of the ability to perform such tasks? 2. Reflect on your current stage, were you able to develop the expected developmental tasks? What are those? Answers: >1. Almost, I could not remember my early childhood. During my middler childhood stage I am satisfied that I acquired the expected developmental tasks. In adolescent stage I do not enjoyed it . even though in physical aspect I acquired the expected developmental tasks I am not satisfied when it comes in logical, abstract, and idealistic aspects. While my early adulthood I think I met the expected developmental tasks such as; establishing personal economic independence, selecting a mate, learning to live with someone in an intimate way, starting family and r...

Module I - Human Development: Meaning, Concepts, and Approaches

Jaime M. Cabatbat BSE - MATH1 Module I - Human Development: Meaning, Concepts, and Approaches From this module, I realized that - I am still in the process of human development. Though I am already 55 years old , I have learned that development does not end in adulthood but continue developing even on this stage of life. I presumedly , I am old enough in/for many things but I was wrong. So I developed my personality ( my learning capability and development ) to fit in into a man - a man expected to be on middle adulthood stage. " Man is unfinished project. He is always in the process of learning."

Unit I. Learner - Centered Psychological Principles

Jaime M. Cabatbat BSE - MATH 1 Unit I. Learner - Centered Psychological Principles From the Module on Learner-Centered Psychological Principles, I learned that there is a process of learning and we need a more holistic approach to improving our context of real world learning situations. That there are principles intended to apply with so that we will become a successful learner.
